It appears that Mallory and Kate ignored my comments and inquiry. I am a fan and thought my question was valid. A simple yes or no would have been sufficient. Since the entry of my first comment, I have noticed a few flaws ( the tray not being flush and product only comes in 2 colors, beige for regular size and blue for the large size ). I am positive that there is room for improvement and I am a patient person. However, to ignore or overlook my pertinent question was not nice. I have suggestions: Make top of tray above handle of a “tacky silicone” to grab hold and stay flush to the also silicone strip on the litter box. Make it long enough and doable to clean. Make it in more colors to “match or blend” in to customers decor. Both sizes should have color options. Lastly, recommend the litter that Omega Paw has found to work well with the product and stop sending everyone out on a wild goose chase to find one that works. Be more effective in helping your customers by giving answers that help and not leaving them with vague answers. What litter works well with Omega Paw and where can we find it. Thank you.

PS- Still wish there was a flap for the entry. The little exit step was a miss, not effective. A door or entry flap would have been more effective at keeping the dust in and slowing down the cat from jumping out.

In reply to <a href="https://cats.com/reviews/best-self-cleaning-litter-box/omega-paw-litter-box-review#comment-85591">Marian Wong</a>.

I bought the regular size Omega Paw at Walmart a month ago. Finally snapped it together, was not understanding the mechanism and how it was going to catch the big pieces…….i was frustrated in the beginning ( not cleaning or catching the big clumps ). Then I realized that I was Not giving the Omega Paw litter box a “Complete rollover or upside down roll” when I did that the left side was clean and level and the clumps were in the tray!!! Wow! I’ve been tired of cleaning litter boxes for 2 cats and was on the brink of surrendering the cats to the pound. Omega Paw saved the cats from being let go. Now if only it came with a front door flap, I’d feel so much better about proactively eliminating the nasty cloud dusties. I’m in the market for 2 large Omega Paw Self Cleaning Litter boxes with Dust Flaps. Any leads or upcoming info?

Hi Karen, our reviews are based on our experiences and understanding of the products based on other customers' reports, but we may miss things sometimes. Thanks for sharing your experience to help others make a decision!

This website must have been paid by Omega Paw, or an affiliate, because it doesn't work at all. All it does it break apart the clumps, of which maybe 1/2 end up in the tray, then the screen ends up on top of the litter so the cat can't use the box next time. Biggest waste of $50 as the store wouldn't take it back. Stuck with a bigger piece of ___ than the cat could make. TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY.

Hi Marian! This litter box is designed to be used with clumping cat litter. If the product doesn't clump, the dirty litter won't separate from the clean litter when you tilt the litter box. It's possible that pellet litter could work if it's a clumping formula but I'm not aware of any pellet-style litters that clump very effectively. Unfortunately, self-sifting and automatic cat litter boxes simply don't tend to work as well with pellet-style litters.
