Unfortunately, the turkey & beef flavors in Dave’s “95% Meat, Limited Ingredient” line of canned cat foods have been discontinued, as of March 2025. I reached out to the company and they said their co-packer’s Canadian plant closed & they only moved a few formulas produced there to their American plant; the beef & turkey flavors were among the flavors that aren’t being made in their American plant.

I received a free sample cam from Dave’s after looking for alternatives to Hill’s for my old bat with kidney disease. She really liked it, based on her first feeding. I want to point out that the restricted diet-low phosphorus is made with chicken and chicken liver, yet the can says it’s made in Thailand. That’s disappointing since I don’t necessarily trust their food safety regs.

In reply to Chris. Hi Chris, the comment about independent retail stores is referencing brick and mortar stores. We separately mention online retailers, including Chewy. I can see how the wording could be clearer, though, so we'll make a change. Thanks for pointing it out!

Chewy.com is not an independent retail store so your article should reflect this because it’s misleading and it’s false information. Dave’s is sold at chewy.com which you obviously know because you posted a review that says this.

Hi, I was very interested in buy from Dave’s pet food but realized all of their Naturally Healthy line contains carrageenan, which is a known carcinogen. Did you come upon that during your research and what’s your opinion?

The numbers in our article are based on the guaranteed analysis, which only gives us minimum and maximum values for non-carbohydrate nutrients. This can lead to some discrepancies with actual nutrient values. Reviewing at scale and using automations, it is difficult for us to obtain typical nutrient values for every brand we review. To get more precise values, I would recommend contacting the company for more information on each recipe.

According to this website (https://catinfo.org/chart/index.php) the carb content for the Naturally line is much lower. It’s there a reason for such a difference in your numbers vs theirs?
