Little Friskies pate cans are no longer a full can of pate. The cans are now a quarter full of water with a shrunken-down pate chunk swimming in the water. The pate collapses into a soupy mush when placed in a dish. In addition, I now have cats throwing up after eating the Friskies. l go through 4 of the 40 can boxes a month, feeding both feral and domesticated cats. Fortunately, there are a large number of pet food manufacturers to try out different products.

3 adult male cats 7-8. Its been on and this year. After trial and error they were getting Tiki Cat dry chicken egg and friskies wet. Stopped doing the cans that were shredded or those huge chunks and settled on pate. Got chicken, chicken and liver and turkey. 3 days ago ran out of Tiki Cat and had to give them just the pate. 2 days I find vomit or bile. They don't want it but eat and then someone gets sick. Tmw were headed to petco to get food. Im double checking Tiki Cat before we go and looking up senior sensitive wet or dry. I feel horrible. Also check yr cans or the photos of them. The article states made here in USA, my cans are NZ 0800 739 847. Bar code 5000 42324

Wow, after reading these comments I am feeling like my experience makes sense. I have a 20 year old cat who is generally in excellent health other than being kinda skinny (says my vet). I've been feeding him frisks wet food for years because it's the only thing he likes to eat. For the past couple of months, he has been having terrible smelling stools and now he has been having diarrhea. I switch his food and it normalized. Switched it back and diarrhea returned. I called Purina and asked if they had been having issues with their wet food or if they had changed anything and they said all they changed was that there is no food colouring now. After reading the timing of all of these other reviews, I am starting to wonder if they shifted something in their production (ie. sourcing their meat from different places). Honestly, my "conspiracy theory" is to wonder if they are using all of the poultry that was culled due to bird flu in the USA. Anyways, I think I am just going to stay away from this stuff from now on. My only concern is that I have a very picky eater and I hope I can find something to keep this old guy happy and healthy. Friskies is NOT it.

Purina is a WSAVA brand. They have the longest running food trials of all the brands. WSAVA brands for cats are IAMS, Purina, Science Diet, Royal Canin. That’s all I’ll feed.

In reply to <a href="https://cats.com/friskies-cat-food-review#comment-119069">Linda</a>.

I put the dry catfood in a bowl, soften it with hot water then use a hand held potato masher, works great.
I have 17 cats most are seniors,I take 7 to 8 can of cat food put them in a big bowl add water little at a time and make it soupy, then I pour the soup in 2 big butter containers.I mix it with a hand immerser, but before I put the soup in the butter containers I use a mesh strainer as I pour the soup because riskiest has alot of hard sharp pieces and I don't want my cats hurting there gums and stomache.
The containers last 3 to 4 days in the fridge.I take a 4 cup measuring glass and pour the soup in it,warm it up in microwave to room temperature and pour it on plates every evening they lap it up.I do that to keep them hydrated and so they don't get blocked or crystals.
I have to soften dry catfood,I use Purina indoor hair ball weight,it's small pieces, soften it then use potato masher or leave them as they are.I have 17 cars, most are seniors and all can't eat hard food like they use to.i put hard catfood down a couple times a day for the ones who want it but a couple of my cats have got UTIs lately so I don't like them just having the hard food down all the time like I use to.and try to give them as much moisture that I can afford
