The CEO’s description of their “product” reads like a corporate spreadsheet. There’s a total detachment from the reason people are so desperately searching for healthy alternatives in the pet world. These are not people who have compassion for pets. The consumer wants to at least believe that companies are doing this to make a difference. What I see is expensive marketing and fishing for any way to maximize profit. Guess we’ll have to wait and see if this company delivers.

My two Ragdolls vomited even on a ¼-Identity / ¾-usual-food mix. I tried the Atlantic Salmon and Heritage Turkey recipes for 3 days. These guys thrive on other high-protein brands such as Smalls, Fussie Cat Premium, Weruva, and Ziwi Peak, so “protein sensitivity” feels like a stretch.

No worries, right? “Money-back satisfaction guarantee!”
Wrong. Tiny footnote: if you used the shiny first-time discount, the guarantee evaporates. Now I’m stuck with 42 unopened 5.5-oz cans.

My two Ragdolls vomited even on a ¼-Identity mix of the Atlantic Salmon/Heritage Turkey recipes with their regular food and I stopped after three days. They handle other high-protein brands (Smalls, Fussie Cat, Weruva, Ziwi Peak) without trouble, so a sudden “protein sensitivity” felt unlikely.

My two ragdolls were persistently vomiting after each meal with 1/4 of the Atlantic Salmon and/or Heritage Turkey recipes. After 3 days I stopped. They routinely eat other high-protein brands (Smalls, Fussie Cat, Weruva, Ziwi Peak) without problems, so sudden “protein sensitivity” seemed unlikely.

Hi very confused about carb content. The turkey for example: the carb content on dry matter basis on the website is 10%. Your numbers are much much higher. Can you please help clarify. Which numbers are correct?

I’m confused about the 95% Collection Turkey DMB carbohydrates %, your chart shows 34.09% but on the Identity website their GA & Dry matter chart has 10.01%–that is a big discrepancy. One of the reasons I liked this Identity cat food was because I thought the carbs were as posted on their website, 10.01% for this product. I checked other “flavors” and all the carbs on your chart are about triple what Identity posts on the GA/DM analysis. I hope Identity is not lying to the consumer! Am I missing something–the carb % is important in picking the right nutritional value for cats. Can you give me some help in figuring out why such a difference in the carb in your chart and the Identity chart. This is my cats mainstay food.

I absolutely do not recommend this company. There is no way to get hold of a real person to talk with when a problem occurs – they only communicate with emails that appear to be AI generated. And their return policy is totally unreasonable. For example, if a product goes on back order for 6 weeks after you place your order, and if your pet in the meanwhile is near death and is refusing to eat their product, they will not let you return the new, unused, unopened, in-the-original-packing cases. I have been giving the product that I had purchased from them previously to my other cat, but she will not touch it. Because she usually eats everything, I suspect that there is something seriously wrong with the quality of this product. I usually prefer to work with smaller companies, but not with such poor customer service as I have experienced with this company. Stay far away!

I first purchased this for my 20-year-old cat to get her to eat. The other cats liked it also and used it for a year it seems that maybe they changed the recipes since now all 7 of my cats won’t eat it like they did. They won’t eat the turkey/quail, or the chicken. they will still eat the fish. I have gone back to smalls.

In reply to M.D.. Not defending this brand or anything here, but if you've been feeding FF it may be difficult for them to like any other healthier options because FF has so much additives for flavor. It's like switching from junk food to organic vegetables...

We don't always find out immediately when a company updates their formulas, so I'd go with the information on the brand website. You can always contact them with questions, as well. The Identity beef recipe looks like a great choice. There's little reason to worry about carrots—cats can digest small amounts of plant matter and the total carbohydrate content appears to be very low.
