Is Purina One LiveClear (the blue bag) a healthier option over the Purina Pro Plan LiveClear foods? I think Purina One LiveClear is a new product because I haven’t seen it before, but it seems to have better ingredients.

In reply to Kelly. Update! The Purina website contradicts itself. One page states, "47% of cats fed LiveClear cat food showed decreased levels of active Fel d 1" and another page states, "97% of cats fed LiveClear food showed decreased levels of active Fel d1". I'm hoping it's the second. Does anyone have allergies to feld2? I guess the Purina food doesn't help with that :(.

Hello! I wanted to note that Purina’s website states, “During a landmark Purina study, 47% of cats fed LiveClear cat food showed decreased levels of active Fel d 1 on their hair and dander, starting in the 3rd week of feeding.” Your article states, “According to Purina’s research, 97% of cats fed LiveClear food showed decreased levels of active Fel d1 in their hair and dander. Within three weeks of starting the diet, cats showed a 47% reduction in active Fel d1.” I wish you were right but the results don’t appear that positive.

I’m feeding my cat this so that my allergies aren’t killing me but given that the ingredients aren’t the best, what can I use as a topper to ensure he’s getting a more nutritious meals every day ?? Probiotic? Chicken hearts? Broth??

In reply to Kasee. Besides Purina LiveClear, there aren't any other foods that are intended to reduce allergen production! You can consider some of the recommendations on our list of the best cat foods and pair them with an allergen reducing shampoo, good hygiene, and appropriate self-treatment.

We started on the purina allergy clear for our allergies but my cats health is important to me. What are some brands you do recommend? My cats will eat pate and dry kibble only. I have tried a few of the more natural brands but they just lick the juice and won’t actually eat the food.
