Scrumbles definitely does have an issue with some cats where it causes explosive digestion issues. Had our cat into the vets for tests and couldn't find anything. I think Scrumbles may add post biotics to some of their foods and I did have a cat previously who had a bad time when we tried them on them. As soon as we took him off them it resolved (pre and pro biotics were fine for him). The timeline for our cat on Scrumbles for issues arising and then clearing once taken off was the same, which is a shame because both our cats flipping loved the food and seemed to be doing well on it, apart from the litter box issues. One of the cts was not affected so I think some cats may just be sensitive to post biotics.

We've been feeding our kittens the wet pate and one of them developed really bad diarrhoea also. Otherwise she was OK but it was really bad. Alas the vets got a first hand demonstration when we took her in. Her sister is also on this food and has loose stools but otherwise been OK. Vets couldn't find anything but after realising they added post biotics to the food also and having had another cat with a sensitivity to these we changed the food and it seems to be resolving. There is sadly definitely an issue with it causing diarrhoea in some cats and at a guess only I think it may be if feeding for every meal there are too many pre and post biotics for their stomachs to handle.

Scrumbles is a good cat food when the tin you open is OK but when it's not ok it makes my cat sick and gives him diarrhoea. If you shake a tin and it's sloshing around do not buy it as it is bad and will harm your cat
We actually think one of the machines in the factory is defective and we are lucky that we have an indoor cat who we know gets sick on this food.
Customer service is abysmal, they can't even admit that there is a problem, but hey keep feeding your cat this and when you get a bad tin if that cat could talk it would tell you and if you keep feeding bad tins it will pack a bag and leave home

Neither of my fuss pots will eat Scrumbles wet foods unfortunately but the dry is unbeatable. One has a super sensitive tum and the chicken dry (adult and kitten) has been a lifesaver. When she does get an upset stomach we cut out her wet food and just give her scrumbles dry for a couple of days. Sorts her out every time. Never a biscuit left in the bowl for either of my girls and the ingredients are great.

Hi Christine, I did a quick review of some of Scrumbles' wet food recipes and didn't see carrageenan in any of them. This is an ingredient that would be listed on the label, so you can always check the product page or the physical label to look for carrageenan.
