My understanding regarding the change in name from Marty's Meals to Shine Pet, and this could be total nonsense, was confusion from pet owners confusing the food line with Dr. Marty's resulting in negative customer posts and is probably the one you sited. While I am speaking to dog food here it also flows to their cat food. For dogs Shine is a 9/10 mostly due to carbohydrates percentage; while dogs need carbs it seems to be a bit more than I actually want or think is needed. Secondly, with my the research on dog and cat food companies and industry, UGH as whole, I go beyond most customer inquires on every aspect of pet food before purchasing (there are only 3 companies I will buy and feed). Before buying/feeding shine I had myriad of questions. The customer service staff although extremely knowledgeable could not provide answers to all inquires and ask if I would mind a call back. Sandy Bosben called me 2 hours later and we talked for literally an hour about the company, GMP, sources, nutrition needs of my pup due to illness, literally everything. Gave me her mobile phone number and said 'call me directly if you ever have any questions'. Try to get that response from other pet food companies. Top notch customer service always with a smile and top notch ingredients. Every question (detailed as to percentages of all ingredients) are provided. Big plus for Shine keeping its high standards and not diluting their mission by spreading too thin for higher profits and producing lower grade food for the masses. It is difficult to find a food that surpasses unless I make it and it's way too expensive and time involved. One missive in your article that could use an edit. Shine Pet website does provide PDFs for both dog and cat on nutritional value, as fed, that includes the calories for each food. Lastly, we all know cats and dogs are well cats and dogs. It surprising how they both will develop similar relationships with their owners. Happy kitties and for those canine parents reading happy pups.
