As a working person, odd hours, male, it was impossible to look after an animal. That is until I bought a townhouse and it came with a lilac pointer Siamese. She was pure bred and the old fashioned head shape. She was a flat cat, would not go outside! Absolutely perfect for me. She lived to 21 almost to the day. Everything written above about them is true except the true versatility of this breed. Depending on their upbringing they are loyal and territorial. Play with them like a dog except patting them. Gentle tummy scratches, they love and yes, they are happy to be on a leash. Train them gently at first.

I agree with Kathy. There are people who aren't realizing that cats are not dolls or toys. They dress cats up in cute little dresses, wigs, etc and laugh at them. I am sure that cats do not like being dressed. They like to be free. As far as breeders go, they should be ashamed of doing some of these things that they are doing. A cat is made by God/Allah/Whoever and is NOT a toy. People who buy these cats are only thinking of how 'cute' they are with their little legs. This seems to be a big trend over the last few years and is just horrible. I personally would be embarrassed to death to have a cat with 2 inch legs or wearing doll clothes.

I absolutely think the Munchkin cat is a very cruel breeding program. It’s a sad genetic mutation that has been capitalized by unscrupulous breeders and now there’s the Bambino!? Cats are not supposed to have short legs.
