Will y’all be reviewing the LitterRobot 5 & 5 Pro, as well as the new Petlibro litter box? I have the LR-3, but have been curious about the new models on the market now and have been unsure if the 5 will be worth it since it was released before it seems all the 4 issues were solved

Is there a battery operated only litter box? I have a battery operated water bowl for my cats and they love it. I don’t have an outlet in the space for litter box need it to be battery operated. TIA Viki

Would have liked to see a Popur X5 compared here as well. I had to replace my Litter Robot 4 with it, since Litter Robot was too small even for my ragdoll kittens and had very shallow and small area for the litter which meant pee would almost always hit the drum before being absorbed and a lot more frequent need to load the litter (unless you pay more for the automatic filler). Popur X5 had worked wonders for the cats, I’m disappointed that no other manufacterer is even bothering with a large litter area which would be a lot more cat friendly.

I found this review of automatic litter boxes interesting since I hate to clean a litter box. A few years ago, I broke down and spent almost $700 for the Litter Robot. It was better than me scooping, but it still smelled and I had a stinky drawer to empty every 8 or so days. When I was researching automatics, before I bought the Litter Robot, I was intrigued by the CatGenie, it was the only cat box that actually removed the waste. But, I did not buy it, because I did not like how long the cleaning cycle was, so I purchased the Litter Robot. I recently saw they had a new Catgenie model that used litter and had a really short 7 minute cycle so I took the leap and purchased it. First impression, looks pretty much like the other Catgenies and while I was a bit concerned about setting it up, it was easier than I thought it would be. The Whoosh, uses clumping tofu litter that clumps really well and has no real tracking. When it cleans, it is not loud and it is done so fast, what noise it does make lasted a min or two. Having no poop or clumps in a storage drawer WOW. This might be the perfect automatic cat box. You have some great suggestions, which are almost some of the most popular litter box models. I am constantly improving my cat’s smart life. I have prepared a dokoo 3L smart feeder, a Dokoo dog camera for observing life, and a Petkit water dispenser for it. It’s a very good experience.

In reply to Geoffrey Eargle. You need to try the Neakasa self cleaning box. I've had it for a year now and love it. The top is open for my large male cat to fit. It's easy to empty the drawer. It's also easy to clean (wash). I have multiple cats and like to empty and wash regularly. It has an app the sends messages like add litter or the tray is full. It has bottoms the also blink for the same messages if you don't want use the app. I hope you review this product.

I know I don’t have to buy off of fb, but it seems companies that are struggling, uses fb to get everyone’s attention and/or have to use fb for marketing. Like I said, anything I buy off of fb is trash!

I really appreciate your reviews of these boxes as I consider purchasing one. Despite your non-top rating, I’m leaning toward the Neakasa M1 because my cats prefer open-top boxes, the lower price than the Litter Robot 4 (oddly, on Amazon, the M1 currently has a $40 lower price for the model that includes the step, than the one without), and while they both seem to have urine leaking issues, the M1 has a “fix” even if it is less than ideal, and it appears easier to clean any mess due to the issue. Am I mistaken? Either way, I’m not making a purchase immediately, so hopefully they will come up with better solutions (before the next Prime Day event?). I also have a question regarding the recommended number of boxes. With an automatic box, is there still a need to have one more box than the number of cats, or will one box rule them all?
